My Learning Style
I have learned by taking this questionnaire many important things about my learning style. One of the first things I have learned is that I am a type three learner. A type three learner is very similar to the way I see myself. A type three learner is someone who learns through their experiences, judging the usefulness of what they encounter. Now I won’t write the entire paragraph describing what a type three learner is by I will summarize. Basically we will learn by doing, failure won’t stop us, it will only help us learn. The next questionnaire was about if I am an independent learner or I am influenced by others. It was not surprising to find out that I am independent, and I am glad that I am. For me being an independent learner is taking charge of my life. Being someone who controls his life, it’s nice to hear such things. I also, learned that I am a kinesthetic learner, which is very similar to the first part of this blog post, which is learning by doing. I feel that if a teacher walks me through how to do something I can fly through it. Where I have trouble is taking the problem to be solved, having a “rough” idea at best on how to solve it. I find those kinds of directions hard to do. Also, when I have hands off professors, it’s hard for me to stay attentive in class. Therefore making the learning experience harder to come by in the college classroom. It’s hard to go from high school where your babied threw your assignments, to college where some, if not most professors expect you to learn on your own. That is the secret to success in my book, if you are able to adapt to that then your college years, will be great! Finally, I found out that I am very “Global Learner.” Again this sums me up very much, as I look for the broader picture instead of the tight littler details when it comes to learning.
